Season DETAIL - 1967-1968

The season starts well for the Owls, who are in the top 3 until the beginning of November, but a slump follows and by the time Alan Brown resigns to join Sunderland at the start of February Wednesday are in 13th.   The slump continues under Jack Marshall, with Wednesday winning just 2 matches of his 15 in charge and in the end only avoid relegation by 2 points.   Wednesday aren't helped by long-term injuries to Graham Pugh, who only makes 2 appearances and David Ford, whose season is decimated by injuries sustained in a car crash, followed by an operation on his knee.

The Football League changes the substitution rule this season to allow for tactical substitutions rather than just being able to bring on a substitute because of an injury.
